We also occasionally provide content about NetBSD, Mac OS X/Darwin and the GNU/Hurd. The majority of our content tends to be of a relatively technical nature.

Supporting The Open Source Community:
By advertising on KernelTrap, you will be helping to support the open source community. After recovering our minimal operating expenses, the funds generated from advertising will be used to purchase additional original content. This original content will include much documentation that may otherwise have never been written, and will be made freely available through these web pages. This is good for you, as it will bring in more readers that will view your advertisement.
Guidelines:
The KernelTrap community is only interested in quality advertisements somehow related to the content of these pages or otherwise relevant to our readers. The advertisements must remain tasteful and static, open to the interpretation of the site's administration. Specifically, animated ads, flash animations, pop-ups, and other types of advertising designed to aggressively attract the attention will not be permitted. Please ask us if you require further clarification or have any additional concerns.
KernelTrap administration reserves the right to only permit advertisements they deem relevant and tasteful.
Advertising Pricing:
KernelTrap currently offers two types of advertisements, side-panel text advertisements, and top-level banner advertisements. The text advertisements are limited to 50 words, generally speaking the shorter the better. Banner ads need to be 468x60 pixels.
The table below shows prices for both types of ads. If you choose to run your ad for a full month, you pay a flat monthly fee that guarantees you a minimum of 80,000 views. If the minimum number of views is not met in a month, your ad will be credited enough views to reach the limit.
Minimum advertisement purchase of $20 required. A 10% discount is offered when purchasing 3 months of advertising at once. A 20% discount is offered when purchasing 6 months of advertising at once.
Tracking Your Advertisement's Effectiveness:
Once your KernelTrap advertising account is setup, you will be able to view live statistics about your ad. It will be possible for you to log in to your KernelTrap control panel and view daily statistics, weekly statistics, and overall statistics, including how often your advertisement has been viewed and how often it has been clicked. You will also have the ability to limit how many times your advertisement can be displayed in a day, or in a week. Finally, you can manually enable and disable your advertisement.
