This lecture actually discusses two different things that share a common ground: wireless communications. After discussing wireless transmission, the lecture goes on discussing sensor networks before discussing WLAN (IEEE 802.11) technology in details. The discussion on sensor networks is a broad overview while the one on WLAN technology is a detailed one. Therefore, unless you need Sensor Networks in your transcript, I suggest that you read the textbook (H. Karl and A. Willig's Protocols and Architecture for Wireless Sensor Networks) instead to get the overview. The discussion on Mobile Communications with emphasize on WLAN technology, however, is worth to be attended.
