The third edition of Linux Device drivers (by Jonathan Corbet, Alessandro Rubini, and
Greg Kroah-Hartman) is now available online. For the moment, it is only available in PDF format, but HTML conversion and DocBook source is on the way. The book is freely redistributable under the (GPLish) Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 2.0 license. You can download the whole stuff form lwn.net.
