Experience:
Convergent Networks,  October 1999 - June 2002,  Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 
Software Engineer / UNIX System Administrator
    Received the February 2000 Employee of the Month award.  Designed 
  and engineered distributed logger and multi-threaded statistical collection
  libraries and API in C.  Maintained softswitch dynamic configuration C code,
  utilizing the MySQL API,  SNMP and proprietary memory structures.  Helped to
  design and implement High Availability into our softswitch.  Created Solaris
  packages customer installation of our software.  Automated product and
  development tasks with shell scripts.  Developed platform control shell script
  which is the primary operational interface between our software and our
  customers.  Responsible for researching, recommending and designing future
  platforms for customer deployment.    Responsible for integration testing of
  software builds.  Wrote documentation, explaining our proprietary software to
  the documentation team, SQA and fellow engineers.  
    Managed 50+ UNIX computers located worldwide.  System administrator for
  development labs running Solaris 2.8.  Maintained development and production
  environment on three major flavors of UNIX:  Solaris, Linux, and Tru64.  
  Configured and maintained Bugzilla bug reporting system.  Managed source 
  configuration with PVCS, CVS and Clear Case.  Built and maintained highly 
  available real time database servers on Tru64 UNIX with TruCluster, LSM, 
  AdvFS, NetRAIN and Oracle. Built and maintained development database servers 
  on Solaris with MySQL, TimesTen and Oracle.  Responsible for performing 
  routine backups of data to tape by writing scripts utilizing tar, dump and 
  vdump;  recovery when necessary and routinely to verify the process.  Helped 
  troubleshoot networking issues, occasionally maintaining Cisco Routers, 
  Switches and Hubs.  Provided 24/7 support for production platforms.

BC Consulting,  May 1994 - October 1999, Haines, AK;  
Owner/Consultant
    Supported the city of Haines and surrounding area, a several hundred mile
  radius.  Troubleshooting a wide variety of applications and operating 
  systems (including Linux, MacOS and Windows).  Contracted out to schools
  tutoring students one-on-one and in classroom situations.  Technology grant
  writing.  Documenting procedures for teachers, city workers and local
  business owners.  Responsible for installation of networks, utilizing 
  TCP/IP, AppleTalk, PPP and SLIP.  Minor hardware repairs.  Web design and 
  hosting, including the development of online databases.  Voluntarily 
  supported local public library ISP.

   I have a solid background in C, shell scripting and HTML.  I am comfortable
